These animations were used to represent Liverpool at the 2015 MIPIM International Investment Showcase in Cannes. Short interviews with some of Liverpool’s business and development key players, made pretty with speeded up drawing on lovely black paper and looped throughout the 3 day event.

Why Renewables?

Sustainable energy suppliers Regen SW kept being asked the question “but why use renewable energy?” So they commissioned a series of posters to answer the question, and to provide facts & figures to back up the argument that renewables really do make sense.

MEN Disorder animations

AMEND, the charity for people with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia, commissioned two films to help explain what the disorder is. In 2015 these films won a Highly Commended at the BMA Patient Information Awards.

Atlantis! A comic strip

Dominic Newton is a extravagant raconteur, composer and musician. We collaborated on a comic strip to accompany his latest camp aquatic rock opera, Atlantis. A gripping tale of boy meets girl versus Leviathan- can the romance of sailor and mermaid survive the terrible Kraken? The concert was a riot of jellyfish, guitars and vintage horror, listen to the full album here.

Creative learning wizards ‘as creatives’ have been holding a series of fun workshop sessions exploring different ‘Extraordinary Worlds’. I was asked to design the posters, giving them a circus feel and showing all the different activities taking place.

An animation for Locality, a national network of community-led organisations, describing what they do. Since this animation, Locality have used these hand-drawn characters to illustrate publications, and further animations to explain different projects and opportunities. Animated using speedy drawing and cut-out stop motion.

An e-book explaining evolution to children, written by Tiffany Taylor and funded by the European Society for Evolutionary Biology. Project Wild Thing

In 2013 David Bond’s brilliant documentary, ‘Project Wild Thing’ went on general release, about trying to reconnect young people with Nature. Featuring animated sequences by yours truly, a result of 2 weeks working with Scriberia in a pile of cut-outs, paper and glue. Here’s an excerpt describing the Science of Nature.

A 24 page A4 illustrated logbook, for children doing the Arts Award ‘First Access Track’ programme. Use it to record your exploration of music, colour it in, doodle on it and cover it in stickers. Made with AS Creatives and designer Andy Clow.
